Just a quick post today to point out a two resources that I have found today. These resources are based around SQL Server 2012 training and upgrade plans.
The first resource is the offical SQL Server 2012 Developer Training Kit . This kit aims to teach you in the following areas:
- Introduction to SQL Server 2012
- Introduction to SQL Server 2012 AlwaysOn
- Exploring and Managing SQL Server 2012 Database Engine Improvements
- SQL Server 2012 Database Server Programmability
- SQL Server 2012 Application Development
- SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Information Management
- Server 2012 Business Intelligence
Combined with a few hands on labs including:
- SQL Server 2012 Database Engine
- Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4.0
- SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Information Management
- SQL Server 2012 Business Intelligence
- Windows Azure and SQL Azure

The other resource that I wanted to link you to today, is the SQL Server 2012 Upgrade Techincal Reference Guide White Paper , which can be dowloaded from here .
This document takes you through the essential technical details for planning and testing an upgrade of existing SQL Server 2005, 2008, and 2008 R2 instances to SQL Server 2012. You will be presented with best practices for preparation, planning, pre- upgrade tasks, and post-upgrade tasks. All the SQL Server components are covered, each in its own chapter.
